Tom is an influential leader who is a disciplined, knowledgeable, trusted advisor focusing on a consultative approach informed by analytical and objective decision making to arrive at solutions to business challenges. As a leader, with 25-years of wisdom, he is a solution-based business developer who is an expert in building relationships, being purposeful, having a lot of fun, and always being hungry to learn. He does all this while contributing positively to the lives of his family, his clients and his community. He relies on the IDS model (identify, discuss, solve) to help lead clients during times of change and opportunity.
Tom built a successful relationship manager and business development career within the financial services industry with one of the country’s top money managers serving financial intermediaries, institutional clients and individual investors. Tom has spent more than 25 years providing investment and value-added solutions and services for clients which include some of the biggest corporations in this industry.
He has also been involved in college athletics and amateur sports his entire professional career. He began this venture at the University of Kansas in the Kansas Athletics Communications Department, where he continues to serve as a gameday consultant for football and men’s basketball. In addition, he has been involved with the Big 8/12 Conference since the early 1990s as a volunteer in many roles. In 1991, he served as the Media Coordinator for the AAU/Soviet Union Junior National basketball tour which involved a 10-city tour coordinating the gameday operations and media relations.
He serves as board ambassador for Coaches vs Cancer and Folds of Honor. He resides in Overland Park KS with his wife, Marsha and his children, Allie (Creighton G’21) and Grant (University of Kansas G’24).
He earned a degree in Communications from the University of Kansas and continues to sharpen his skills by earning a distinguished Professional Leadership Certificate from KU.
