Rob has spent more than 20 years as an administrator striving for the best ways to communicate the stories of the collegiate athletics experience through the institutions, coaches and student-athletes. He has spent his entire career working in sports, building relationships and dealing with some of the best in athletics.
He serves as the President for the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the national organization for strategic communicators for college athletics. He joined the officer rotation beginning in 2014-15 and is in his fourth year overall serving on the Board of Directors.
Rob worked for nearly 13 years at the Big 12 Conference, handling a variety of external relations responsibilities. He served as the primary contact for men’s basketball, working daily with the Senior Associate Commissioner, Associate Commissioner for Men’s Basketball and the league head coaches on any basketball-related administrative issues.
In addition, Rob was one of the leaders of the operations team for all postseason basketball events, including serving as a NCAA preliminary round host seven times and the local media coordinator for the 2014 NCAA Men’s Final Four. He coordinated some of the daily operations of the Conference communications staff as well as the digital staff at the Big 12, working diligently with them on maintenance of the league’s current initiatives as well as the evaluation of any emerging technologies.
Rob joined the Big 12 after a nearly eight-year stint at the Big East Conference in Providence, Rhode Island, where he handled much of the day-to-day football media relations while assisting with men’s basketball communications. His Big East appointment came after a one-and-a-half-year stint at Conference USA in Chicago. He was one of the first hires for the office as it transitioned into its first year of league operations.
Rob has a passion for travel, movies, sports and any episode of Seinfeld, while being a husband and father of two wonderful and energetic sons. He is a 1994 graduate of the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. Rob was born and raised in New Jersey.
